Opera Mobile 10 Beta 2 Update Tweaks RAM Usage

I’ve almost always preferred the default web browser on my Symbian-powered smartphones. It’s always there, it works, and it’s really well integrated into the interface (as well it should be). However, there’s definitely plenty of competition out there for your browsing activity, including a recent newcomer, Opera Mobile 10.

Opera Mobile is the native version of the popular Opera Mobile java-based browser, and it’s really really nice. Opera Mobile 10 is up to its 2nd beta, and has another small update that seems to do wonders for its RAM usage on the Nokia N97. Before the update, with Opera Mobile 10 Beta 2, I was not able to use Gravity at the same time as I was browsing, at all. After installing this small update, I’m able to do so easily.

Also, our friend Dennis at WAPreview.com (an awesome site, if you’re a mobile web junkie) noticed a few updates to the text input mechanism in this new version.

You can download the updated version of Opera Mobile 10 Beta 2 here. I’m actually anxious to see how Opera Mobile 10 shapes up as it passes through beta and into a final release.
