We’ve been reporting on the Nokia N900 quite extensively of late. Every development, quirk, feature and interesting nugget of information has been covered. While the actual release date details are still a little “sketchy”, we can now confirm the Nokia N900’s OS and some other cool hardware specifications are locked and locked and ready to be played with. Read on after the jump for more details on the Nokia N900…

Unless you’ve been living under a rotten apple core for the last six months, you’ll know the Nokia N900 is running on the Maemo 5 operating system. However, the Nokia N900 isn’t just a thing made of OS, as it will also feature 32GB of on board memory, a 5-Megapixel Carl Zeiss camera with auto-focus, as well as HSPA and Wi-Fi connectivity for all your internet and email browsing needs.

However, until now we’d not seen the full OS in action. Thankfully, the good people at NokiaConversations have shared a video showcasing the Nokia N900’s Maemo 5 OS in action. The video shows what the Nokia N900 is capable of and what you can expect to see when you first fire up the soon-to-be-released device.

The video features the Nokia N900’s Getting Started video application which takes you step-by-step through everything you need to know when you first power up the device. The video features information on how to use the devices multiple desktops, launching applications, setting up the web, switching between tasks, and how you update your statuses on a variety of social networking sites.

The video also illustrates the tactile nature of the Nokia N900’s touchscreen interface that uses vibrational feedback, as well as the option to use a stylus for more precise work.

Overall, it all looks rather promising, with the OS running extremely smoothly and the screen looking crisp and clear. Needless to say, we can’t wait to get out hands on it later this week.
