Lets face it, the Apple iPhone has been around for 3 years and as long as you’re happy with that one-size fits all, then you’re easily please. However, as we all know, we all like different things, shapes, sizes and applications, which is why the Nokia N900 is here to rock the high-end market. Read on to discover the 15 reasons why the Nokia N900 beats the iPhone hands down…

According to the good people at Starryhope, the Nokia N900 performs better in a whooping 15 categories than the iPhone, and we’re hard pressed to disagree with them on that one…

In terms of price, the iPhone is cheaper to buy than the Nokia N900. However, the iPhone is locked to certain networks, in the UK its Orange and O2, and when you sign up for one you’ll be locked into a 2 year contract that will cost you upwards of £1000. The Nokia N900 is open to any GSM provider after you’ve bought it, so you won’t end up paying thousands of pounds. In this sense, the Nokia N900 is a lot cheaper – nearly half the price – than the iPhone.

In addition, when you’re abroad you can purchase a local SIM card for that country, meaning your roaming charges will be charged at a local rate instead of £200 for 200MB of data, which if we’re honest is daylight robbery! Again, this is another distinct advantage the Nokia N900 has over the iPhone.

Another pro Nokia N900 fact is that it’s better at multitasking. As we all know, the iPhone can only run one app at a time, which is a tad rubbish. Unlike the iPhone, the Nokia N900 will let you run as many apps as you like, so you can listen to Last.fm, browse the web, download tracks, talk on the phone, and keep 10 games running in the background, which again, if we’re honest, is pretty sweet!

Additionally, the Nokia N900 has more onboard storage thanks to its MicroSD card port, which can store up to 32GB of data. So, how is this better than the iPhone’s 32GB of onboard storage? Well, put simply, you can carry as many MicroSD cards with you as you want, so the amount of storage you have can be expanded and moved around in an almost unlimited sense – the only downside is that you’ll have to swap SD cards around.

The Nokia N900 also has a keyboard as well as touchscreen technology, which means you get the best of both worlds – and if recent reports are anything to go by, having a keypad is something a lot of customers want, even if the phone manufacturers seem hell-bent on eradicating them.

Finally, the Nokia N900 has full support for Java, which means you’ll be able to view webpages as you would on your PC. This is something the iPhone claims to do, but in actual reality does not. Again, this is a big advantage the N900 has over the iPhone. As is the addition of Google Talk and GPS routing, which come at no additional cost, and the latter is provided free of charge by the Ovi Store.

What do you think, are you as taken with the Nokia N900 as we are? Tell us about it in the Comments below. For the full list, check out the Starryhope

The N900 doesn't have Java - it does have full Flash 9.4 support though and Javascript

Does it or doesn't it have Java support? From what I read elsewhere, it seems that stamenkd is right. But Java will be the decisive factor for whether I buy one or not... and both Java SE and ME are welcome!
